Sinead Carthy is a highly experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with over 12 years experience. Since qualifying with an honours degree from Trinity College Dublin, she has worked across a range of clinical settings supporting families and children with speech, language and communication challenges.
Sinead is also employed by the HSE as a Senior SLT in Primary Care. She has also worked as a Senior SLT on an Early Intervention Team for children with complex and multiple disabilities and as a basic grade SLT on a school aged Disability and Autism Team. Sinead is passionate and committed to providing a high quality client centred service. Her research paper exploring Parents Experiences of the ASD Diagnostic Process was published in the Journal of Clinical Speech and Language Studies in 2012, the findings of which contributed directly to best practise guidelines in Co. Mayo.
Sinead enjoys working with children who have isolated speech and language delays and disorders, children with Specific Language Impairment, Verbal Dyspraxia , Cleft Palate and children who stammer. Her true love however is working with and supporting children who have complex difficulties relating to global developmental delay, intellectual disability and Autism. Sinead is whole heartedly committed to helping every child achieve their unique potential.
Sinead has completed a number of postgraduate training courses including Hanen, Lamh, Elklan, PECS, TEACHH, Derbyshire, Minikids and Palin Parent Child Interaction Therapy for children who stammer.
Sinead can deliver a high quality comprehensive assessment followed by tailor made, fun, motivating and engaging therapy to help every child maximise their speech, language and communication potential.
