Katy is a Clinical Psychologist committed to working with young people and their families using a person-centred and integrative approach.
Katy holds a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Psychological Science, both from University College Dublin. She also holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin and is a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
Throughout her training Katy has gained a wide range of experience working across various settings, including a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Lifespan Primary Care, Community Adult Mental Health and an Adult ID service. Prior to this Katy worked in a Primary Care Psychology service supporting both children and adults with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and worked with autistic children in an educational setting.
Katy has a breadth of experience and training in psychological and multi-disciplinary assessments, using a neuro-affirmative and collaborative approach whilst working within best-practice guidelines. Katy works therapeutically with various models, including Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches. Katy is passionate about using creative methods such as play and art when working therapeutically with children and young people.
In her spare time Katy enjoys running, swimming and dancing. She holds a Diploma in Dance Education and regularly teaches children and young people in her local dance school.
