Inês Salgado
Educational & Child Psychologist
Inês holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Porto, Portugal, where she graduated with distinguished honors in Child Development. Her Educational Psychologist qualifications are officially recognized by the Department of Health in Ireland, and she is a Chartered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) as well as a full member of the Portuguese Psychological Association (OPP).
With experience across both educational and clinical settings, Inês focuses on cultivating inclusive, neuroaffirmative environments. During her time in Portugal, she specialized in designing systemic supports and evidence-based school programs focused on literacy, socio-emotional development, and emotional safety. By collaborating closely with school staff and families, she ensures that every student can find a sense of belonging within their educational community.
Her work within the Irish healthcare system, including the HSE Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) and specialized ADHD services, has given her a deep understanding of the Irish healthcare landscape and the value of multi-disciplinary collaboration. She believes the best support happens when we look at the whole child, working alongside families, schools, and health professionals to provide a truly integrated circle of care.
Inês’s work focuses on strengths-based, neuroaffirmative assessments and support for children and adolescents. In her practice, she reframes behavioral challenges as communicative needs, partnering with young people to map their unique profiles to create systems that honor their natural processing styles.
Utilizing evidence-based tools such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Inês supports young people in navigating anxiety and emotional regulation with self-compassion. She also holds a specialization in Dyscalculia, utilizing the Singapore Math Method, to provide multisensory scaffolding for students with math-based learning differences.
Dedicated to the art of listening, she provides services in both English and Portuguese.
Inês is committed to helping families move away from deficit-based labels and toward a future where every child feels understood and celebrated
