Dr Maeve Wallace

Senior Clinical Psychologist

Maeve is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, with over ten years’ experience of working with children and adults, across primary care and complex mental health settings. She is a Chartered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).

 Maeve’s career in psychology began with her undergraduate Psychology degree at Trinity College Dublin, followed by a Masters in Addiction Studies at Dublin Business School, achieving first class honours in both degrees. She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London.

 Prior to her doctoral training, Maeve worked in a specialist service in London, providing tailored support to autistic teenagers and young adults.

 Throughout her training and following qualification, Maeve has worked across a wide range of NHS services, including Primary and Secondary Care mental health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) teams, and a secure ward with young people with intellectual disabilities. Since returning to Ireland, Maeve has worked with HSE Assessment of Need and School Age disability teams. 

 Maeve is skilled in conducting cognitive and neuropsychological assessments across the lifespan, as well as carrying out best-practice autism assessments with children. She strives to create an assessment environment which puts children and families at ease. Maeve is experienced in delivering a range of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. She is passionate about collaborating with the young person and their family to develop creative and realistic approaches to managing difficulties.

 Maeve has a particular interest in culturally-informed practice and providing support that aligns with each family’s unique and specific experience.
