Kiera is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years' experience collaborating with children, young people and their families on their journeys towards health and self-knowledge. Kiera is a late identified Autistic and ADHD mother of neurodivergent children; she brings together her expertise and humanity in providing neuroaffirmative assessments and therapy.
Kiera earned her Psychology degree (B.A. Hons) from Trinity College Dublin, and returned there in later years to complete her Masters degree in Applied Psychology (MSc) and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D Clin Psych). Kiera is a Chartered Psychologist of the Psychological Society of Ireland (C Psychol PsSI). She supervises Clinical Psychology trainees from TCD and UCD Doctoral courses and is a visiting Lecturer to the UCD Doctoral course. Kiera also provides training and consultation to Youth Workers on Trauma Informed Care.
Kiera has gathered her experience as a Clinical Psychologist by working in many areas throughout the public and private health systems including: HSE Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Primary Care Psychology Services, Disability Services and Adult Mental Health Services. Her specialisms include working with children and adolescents in the areas of Neurodivergence, Mental Health and Trauma. Kiera has extensive training in child and adolescent psychotherapies including Mentalisation Based Treatment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Attachment Based Family Therapy. She has also completed additional training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Kiera brings all this knowledge and skill to bear in creating an easy-going, highly professional, and therapeutic assessment experience for the young people and families that she works with.
Kiera has found her passion in working with young people to help them, and the people around them, understand their neurodivergent identities. This is very privileged work and Kiera recognises the honour of accompanying families through this important time.
