Dr Ruth Monaghan
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Ruth Monaghan is a Clinical Psychologist. Ruth completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Trinity College Dublin. She holds a BA in Psychology from University of Galway and a MSc in Applied Psychology from Trinity College Dublin.
Ruth has a wide variety of experience. Prior to her doctoral training, Ruth gained experience as an assistant psychologist in a Child Primary Care Psychology setting and an Adult Neuropsychology hospital service.
Throughout her Doctoral training, Ruth gained experience in a variety of settings including Child and Adult Disability, Adult Primary Care, Child and Adolescent Mental Health service (CAMHS), Adult Mental Health, and Acute Paediatric Hospital settings.
Ruth has experience in a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic approaches. Ruth also has comprehensive training in a wide variety of psychological assessment tools.
Ruth is passionate about providing neuro-affirmative child and family-centred assessment and therapy. She is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative space, while ensuring the voice of the young person and their family is prioritised.
