Cancellation Policy

Your appointments are very important to the The Children’s Clinic. They are reserved especially for you and your child. We understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. Therefore, we respectfully request at least 48 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling of consultations/ therapy sessions appointments and 72 hours for assessments.

Please understand that when you forget, cancel, or change your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and children on our cancellation list miss the opportunity to receive their support.

Any appointments missed, late cancelled, or change without the appropriate notice time will result in a DNA charge of 50% of your appointment price.

If you are running late for your appointment, we will do our best to fit you in. please be aware that late arrival may result in shortened or cancelled appointment. A cancelled appointment will result in the fee terms detailed above.

Emergency absence will be considered on an individual basis.

Therapy: Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to close all therapy waitlists, including Psychology, Speech & Language and Occupational Therapy due to high demand. We wish that this was not the case and are working hard to have these open again.

Occupational Therapy: We have also currently closed all Occupational Therapy waitlists, including Consultations, Therapy and Assessment. Again, we are actively hiring for more Occupational Therapists, and once we do hire suitable candidates these will be reopening.

Our waitlist for Dyslexia/Psycho-Educational Assessments is also currently closed due to high demand. We will re-open this as soon as we can.

Fees

Please note that in The Children’s Clinic we invest in our staff through high levels of training and supervision. We also match HSE pay scales in order to recruit the best possible clinicians to see your children. The HSE regularly raises the wages across the board, which we of course need to follow. This means that prices quoted here may increase slightly in between joining our waitlist and booking your appointment. Please be aware that we are doing everything we can to keep costs as low as we can for you, while still providing children with the high level of care and expertise that we are known for.

They aim to support parents in practical ways to implement recommendations from their child’s reports and help troubleshoot any concerns they may have about their child’s development and the transition to school.

Initial Consultation: € 150

Subsequent Sessions: €120

Assessments:

Please note that the following prices may be reduced depending on individual circumstances, e.g. if a child has previous assessment reports. Please phone us to discuss if you are unsure as to what exactly your child needs at this time.

Psychology - Cognitive/Developmental Assessment: €800

This may include:

• Cognitive (IQ) or Developmental assessment (depending on age of child and their readiness for assessment). To include adaptive testing if necessary.

• Review of existing reports

• Parent interview and feedback

• Report with detailed recommendations for home and school

Important Note: It is not necessary to undertake a cognitive or developmental assessment in order to identify if your child is Autistic or not. If your child is attending school and there are no learning needs identified by teachers, there is no need to do a cognitive assessment unless you would like to also investigate your child’s learnings. For some younger children with high care needs, it can be helpful to undertake one to look at other areas that may be impacting. But again, it is not necessary to undertake one for the specific question of whether your child is Autistic. It is your choice whether you would like to undertake one. Prices are given below with both a cognitive and without a cognitive.
