Dr Angela Coleman
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Angela Coleman is a Clinical Psychologist who is committed to working in a person-centred, neuro-affirmative manner. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive and tailored assessments that respect and affirm the unique neurodivergent identities of her clients.
Angela completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Trinity College Dublin (TCD). She holds a Masters in Applied Psychology from University College Cork (UCC) and a Higher Diploma Psychology Conversion course and a BA in Psychological Science and English from the National University of Galway (NUIG). She is a Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (M14987).
Angela has worked with children and families in a variety of settings, including Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Hospital based settings and Primary Care Psychology services. Angela’s extensive experience has harnessed her ability to understand and formulate around psychological and development needs across the life span. Her experience to date has also supported her ability to work from a strengths-based perspective, advocating always for the client’s needs and preferences to be at the centre of her work.
Angela enjoys working creatively and likes to adapt her therapeutic approach to suit the person she is supporting. She has trained in various therapeutic approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and applies a systemic lens to her work. She is passionate about working collaboratively with young people, families, educators and other professionals to promote understanding and inclusion.
When she is not working, Angela enjoys listening to music, baking and spending time with animals.
Angela looks forward to supporting the children and families attending The Children’s Clinic on their journey through assessment and enhanced self-understanding.
