Iām Hannah and I am an Occupational Therapist, a mother of 4 and I am multiply neurodivergent. I have extensive history working with neurodivergent adults and children and those with complex needs. I have worked with people who identify as Autistic, ADHD, Dyslexic, Dyspraxic and OCD in both the public and private sector. I follow a neuro-affirmative approach in all my work.
I am experienced in supporting individuals and their families in understanding a formal identification of neurodivergence. I use a collaborative and individualised approach. I work with people to identify their strengths and to devise strategies to meet their goals. This can include developing skills for life, supporting concentration and organisation, forming healthy, meaningful routines and navigating education and employment. I have a particular interest in the experience of neurodivergent women during hormonal transitions e.g. perimenopause and adolescence, and how best to support women during these often-challenging times.
I qualified with an MSc in Occupational Therapy in 2011, am an Advanced Sensory Integration practitioner (University of Ulster/SI Network) and have a BA in Performing Arts. I am a direct communicator and solution focused. I previously ran a theatre company for actors with disabilities and have facilitated workshops, courses and seminars in self-advocacy and drama for adults and children. More recently, I penned a memoir called Knowing No Boundaries. I am an active advocate for disability awareness and inclusion, and I am committed to promoting a positive social model of disability and advocating for inclusion.
