Genevieve is a Senior Educational Psychologist with nearly 20 years experience working within the Irish health service.
Genevieve qualified as a psychologist in 2004, and in the intervening time has worked on several disability teams, including: working with children with significant and complex needs, an early intervention team where she worked with children under 6 years of age, through to a community school-aged team, working with children with disability attending their local school. Genevieve moved to a Primary Care setting in 2020, working with young people with mild to moderate mental health needs, and more recently has moved to a 0 – 5 years Infant Mental Health multi-disciplinary team.
Genevieve has always had a strong interest in autism, and has a great deal of experience completing autism assessments, both with younger children, primary school aged children, and teenagers. Given her interest in autism, Genevieve returned to UCD in 2016 and completed her Doctoral research with Autistic children of preschool age.
Genevieve has provided contributions to both the Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology training programmes in UCD and Trinity College respectively, and regularly supervises trainees from these courses.
Genevieve is a chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), and is a member of the PSI Autism Special Interest group and PSI Educational Psychology division.
